How to reach Culham Science Centre

Engineering Solutions and the National NDT Centre are located in Building E1 Mezzanine at AEA Technology's Culham Science Centre on the A415 near Abingdon approximately 6 miles South of Oxford with good connections to the A34 and M40 and M4 Motorways. The nearest main railway stations are at Culham, Didcot Parkway and Oxford, The nearest airport is Heathrow, about 1h away by car allow 2h at peak times.

Nearest stations are Culham adjacent to the site and Didcot Parkway.  Culham is on the Thames Train route between Oxford and London. For rail timetable information contact the railtrack  website  Click here for train times.  Visitors using the M40 are advised to bypass Oxford and leave at Junction 7 the A329 Thame and Wallingford Exit and cut across to Culham Science Centre via Stadhampton and Clifton Hampden.

By rail:  AEA Technology Culham Station is on the Oxford-London line, 5 miles north of Didcot Parkway which has frequent connections with London Paddington, Oxford, Birmingham, West of England and South Wales. Culham Science Centre is 5 Minutes walk from the Station. Trains to Culham are approximately hourly. For train times go to www.railtrack.co.uk

By road: From the south: At M4 junction 13 take A34 north towards Oxford. After 12 miles (Milton Interchange) take A4130 towards Wantage. At traffic lights turn right onto B4017. At mini roundabout turn right onto B4016. Go through Sutton Courtenay and after sharp right bend turn left to Culham and Abingdon. At the second set of traffic lights turn right onto A415, Culham Science Centre is on the left after 2 miles. From the M40 take Junction 7, Thame Exit and follow the A329 to Stadhampton, follow the Oxford Road north after the Jet Garage then turn off after 400 yards left by the Pub, to reach the Golden Balls roundabout, go straight across following signs for the A415 and Clifton Hampden. Turn right at the Clifton Hampden traffic lights. Culham site is about 1km towards Abingdon.

From the north: At M40 junction 9 take A34 south towards Newbury. After 18 miles take slip road signed Abingdon North. Turn left onto A4183 towards Abingdon and continue towards town centre. Follow signs for A415 towards Dorchester and Culham Science Centre is on the left after 4 miles.
