Venue:
All meetings unless otherwise stated are held at the 1st Floor Lecture Theatre (Level 5), Department of Nuclear Physics (Denys Wilkinson Building) in central Oxford at the junction of Banbury and Keble Roads, near St Giles. Maps and directions: Enter Postcode OX1 3RH at www.multimap.com or www.streetmap.co.uk. Approximately 15-20 Minutes walk from Oxford Station.
All welcome. Usually 6.00pm for 6.30pm talk start. Refreshments from 6.00pm in Senior Common Room. Climb up wide steps from Keble road, near junction with Banbury Road. Lecture room is on the 1st Floor (Level 5). Tea and coffee in 1st Floor Common Room.
On street car parking is available on Pay and Display parking in Keble Road (access via Parks Road), adjacent to the venue for a price of ~£2 for 1h up to 6.30pm Parking is free after 6.30pm. parking is also available nearby in Norham Gardens or St Giles under similar terms. So for people arriving for OMS meetings prior to 6.30pm it will normally be necessary to pay £2 to take you to 6.30pm after which parking is unrestricted. (NOTE Wardens tend to flock just before 6.30pm so payment is advised even if just 10-15min to go).
Pay & Display details updated on 23 January 2007. Parking is also possible in roads off Banbury Road, Woodstock Road and in Walton Street (e.g 2h Max 8.30am to 6.30am). Check as times and duration allowed will vary.
Note that the University Car Parks are now patrolled by University Wardens 24h a day. Parking in Nuclear Physics, Metallurgy or any University car park is not advised and OMS cannot accept responsibility for any clamping, parking ticket or other fine.
